Hallowed Grounds Cafe & Gifts

Hallowed grounds is my new favorite cafe!! They have gluten-free options that you couldn't even tell are gluten-free, they're so good! They serve such fun latte specials and have sick home made merch. The area they have for coffee meetings is spacious and lovely! A great place to meet friends or get some work done. Also the bus boy is pretty cute.

The cutest and most delicious coffee shop right in the heart of an old church building in downtown SLC. Truly couldn’t ask for a better experience here! The gluten free food is delicious (and I’m not gf) their lattes are SO good, my favorite is “my kink is Carmel” but you really can’t go wrong with what you order. This is a local and woman owned business that also exclusively sells Queens Tea (another local, woman owned business in SLC). Everything is delicious and the owner is such a sweetheart. It’s also a great space to WFH or study with the free WiFi and large indoor seating areas. Insane to see people writing fake reviews to push some weird narrative over personal fallouts, but I guess that’s show biz baby! Hard to beat the best!

Service? Outstanding. Coffee and food? Even better. We had the Slamming Salmon, and it lived up to the name. But let’s talk about the real star here—the atmosphere. In a state where so many places look and feel the same, Hallowed Grounds is a breath of fresh, delightfully dark air. As a metalhead and horror fan, I felt right at home. The gothic aesthetic is unique, intentional, and beautifully done—an absolute haven for those who appreciate something different. Beyond the “killer” vibes, the staff was warm and welcoming. They even gave our little Chimi a pup cup on the house and were genuinely excited to have him there. To those who don’t “get it”—that’s fine. Not every place needs to be for everyone. But if you’re looking for incredible coffee, fantastic food, and a space that celebrates individuality, Hallowed Grounds is it. I’ll be back. Again and again.

Loved the cafe as soon as I walked in. Great space, awesome vibes, and the decorations are a great touch. Love the humor/style. Got tea and coffee for a few of us vendors at the Utah Arts festival and we're from Seattle and oftentimes picky. Drinks were the best we've had in a long while of travelling the states for shows.

It’s so key to have a local coffee shop like Hallowed Grounds! The owners are the best people, that hire caring, hilarious, and if I may be so bold, hot staff. You’ll go there and leave with more than just a great brew, promise!

The best place for brunch downtown!! Delicious food, fantastic coffee & caffeine free teas, darling small business owner boss lady, beautifully peaceful atmosphere, and cozy open seating area with boardgames. Our little pooch is allowed inside & gets a pup cup! All the food options are gluten free so it's fully safe for celiacs - you wouldn't be able to tell because it all just tastes that good. Highly recommend the brekky sandy for savory & the almond cake with raspberry compote for sweets. Get all the toppings if avocado toast is your thing!

Welcome to your new favorite coffee shop! Amazing! It’s so hard to find safe breakfast options in SLC, well not anymore! So many great comfort foods that I miss and everything is gluten free. Coffee was the best coffee I’ve had in a long time (you can actually get safe oat milk and flavored coffees without having to worry). Inside a beautiful building with other small business and a great space to work remotely in.
